Tomar Velas is a small business creating 100% natural eco-friendly candles, wax melts and luxury reed diffusers that smell absolutely incredible! All are lovingly hand poured by a husband and wife team using only ethically sourced and sustainable ingredients

Being serious candle lovers, what we didn’t realise is that the candles we were buying from shops were made by machine from paraffin wax, a world away from our lovingly handmade products. Paraffin wax creates toxins when burned, collecting in your home and also burn very quickly. Conversely, soy wax is sustainable, biodegradable, clean (producing no soot or smoke) and slow burning. Our desire was to create 100% natural products. 

We hand pour in small batches because that way you get the best fragrance distribution meaning your candle or wax melt will give off scent right until the end. Each of our scents have been carefully chosen, tried and tested to ensure the finest fragrance throw offering a long-lasting aroma to fill any room.

We craft our 100% VEGAN soy coconut candles in our studio based in Tomar. Our candles are presented in glass jars that are environmentally friendly, easy to wash, making them recyclable or reusable. Our 250g candles offer a 50 hour+ burn time and our smaller 150g candles offer a 30 hour+ burn time. The wicks we use are lead-free and made from all-natural biodegradable cotton.

All our candles are presented in an eco-friendly drawstring jute gift bag which are biodegradable, low-energy recyclable and can even be used as compost in the garden!  

We have used a slightly different wax for our VEGAN melts which are made with natural soy, derived from soybeans that have been specifically designed for making these little squares of joy. Each melt cube lasts for approximately 10 hours of scent and exhibits an amazing scent throw coming in packs of 6 weighing 75g. We also offer traditional oil warmers to go with them. If you have not tried them before, give them a go as you don’t know what you are missing!

Our premium scented eco-friendly reed diffusers smell amazing and are perfect for every room in the home or office. The bottles look modern with striking black reeds and they are a fuss-free way to fill your home with stunning scents that is flame free. 

We only use the finest fragrance oils. Our luxury reed diffusers are hand-blended, using a non-toxic renewable source, making them last longer. They have a low carbon footprint and of course are eco-friendly.  The reeds are made from fibre threads, which make them very absorbent and able to diffuse scent stronger than their rattan or bamboo counterparts. 

Our handcrafted gift boxes include our wax melts, candles, reed diffusers and wax warmers. They are available in a wide variety of fragrances for your home, providing the perfect opportunity to indulge in our heavenly scents and they really do make an ideal gift as you can even put together a bespoke option. We have kept our boxes plain and simple; made from cardboard, so you can recycle or upcycle and re-gift.

All our products are eco-friendly, have not been tested on animals and are paraffin & phthalate free. As our scents are made with only pure and natural oils, they are great if you’re prone to allergies.
